About Atam Ras Kirtan Australia

Atam Ras Kirtan Australia Inc. is a registered Australian charity and a community-driven initiative dedicated to fostering spiritual growth and cultural connection through the sacred tradition of Sikh devotional music, known as kirtan. Our mission is to unite the global Sikh community by promoting the values of Sikhi and providing a platform for collective worship and learning.

Our flagship event, the Atam Ras Kirtan Darbar, is a four-day spiritual gathering held at Gurdwara Sahib Blackburn in Melbourne, Australia. Scheduled from June 6th to 9th, 2025, this event commemorates the Shaheedi Divas (martyrdom day) of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji, the fifth Sikh Guru who exemplified the principles of truth, justice, and unwavering faith.

The Darbar features attendance by esteemed kirtanis and kathavachaks, including Giani Pinderpal Singh Ji, Bhai Jasbir Singh Ji (Paonta Sahib Wale), Bhai Sarabjit Singh Ji Rangila (Durg Wale), Bhai Parminder Singh Ji (Australia Wale), Bhai Dr. Gurinder Singh Ji Batala, and Bhai Jagjit Singh Ji (Melbourne Wale). These spiritual luminaries offer soul-stirring renditions of Gurbani and insightful discourses that inspire and uplift the congregation.

Beyond musical devotion, Atam Ras Kirtan Darbar Australia organizes a range of activities aimed at engaging all age groups and promoting community well-being. These include Kids & Youth Camps, Sikh Heritage Exhibitions, Gatka martial arts demonstrations, Amrit Sanchar ceremony, and Free Health check-ups conducted by registered healthcare professionals.

Our commitment to service (sewa) is exemplified by the involvement of passionate volunteers, such as young members of the community like 11-year-old Anmol Kaur, who raised funds for the event through creative initiatives such as selling handmade greeting cards and succulents. Her dedication reflects the spirit of giving and community engagement that Atam Ras Kirtan Australia strives to cultivate.
